WOOSTER – Mildred Arlene MOORE, 78, of Burbank, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 in Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born January 8, 1933 in Wooster, the daughter of Floyd A and Ruth Fetter Franks. She married David O. Moore on August 10, 1952. He survives.
She was a 1951 graduate of Wooster High School and had been a secretary at the Gerstenslager Co. for 41 years retiring in 1999. She had also worked as a secretary for Lightning Rod Mutual Insurance and Rubbermaid and for the Wayne Co. Airport Authority. Mildred was a member of the Grace Brethren Church, had been a 4-H advisor for the Cannan Country Cousins for 26 years, was a member of the Professional Secretaries International, was the secretary and treasurer for the Wayne-Holmes Jersey Cattle Club for 35 years. She enjoyed traveling, square dancing and baking..
Surviving in addition to her husband are her sons Paul A. (Kristine) Moore and Donald (Anissa) Moore both of Burbank; grandchildren, Natashia and Tyler Moore, Andy Moore and Michelle Kendle; 2 great-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Franks and Hazel Perry both of Wooster, Dorothy Scott of Smithville, and Roberta Franks of Arizona.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Richard Franks.
Services will be held at Grace Brethern Church on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 10:30 AM with the Rev. Steve Kern officiating. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Wednesday evening from 5-8:00 p.m.
