WOOSTER – James Byron PORTER, 41, of Orrville, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born December 8, 1969 in Mt. Vernon, the son of Richard and Luanna McKinstry Porter. He married Rhea Comito on June 6, 2009. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Capodanno as a gunners mate. James attended the West Lebanon United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodcarving and cooking and gardening..
Surviving in addition to his wife are his father, Richard (Shirley) Porter of Mt. Vernon, his mother, Luanna (Gary) Girten of Plain City, a sister, Nancy (Bob Fogel) Butler of Marysville; a brother-in-law Christopher (Jennifer) Comito of Orrville; nephews, Daniel and Kenny Comito and Donald Kosegi; nieces, Beth Brink and Dawn Roberts; 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
Friends will be received at the at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Monday evening, June 13, 2011 from 5-8:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Linda Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to the Charity of the donor’s choice.
