John Thomas Shultz, 68, of Wooster, died Tuesday August 9, 2011 at Akron General Medical Center.
He was born February 26, 1943 in Pittsburg, KS, son of the late George T. and Violet Waggonner Shultz.
John was a sheet metal worker and was a custodian for Wooster City Schools. He was a member of the Joy Baptist Church in Orrville, Sheet Metal Unions 66 out of Cleveland and 70 out of Akron and Wayne County React. John enjoyed fishing, camping, dirt track racing and spending time with his grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife, Diane Snyder of Wooster, whom he married December 13, 1971; children Mike (Joyce) Shultz of Chippewa Lake, John (Laurie) Shultz of Orrville, Dawn (Eugene) Ziegler of Wooster and Chrystal (Randy) Saxton of Tulsa, OK; 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; a brother, George Shultz of Wooster; one aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by aunts and uncles.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 12 at 2:00 PM at Wooster Cemetery with Pastor Charles Cannon officiating. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, Ohio 44691 to help defray expenses.
