WOOSTER – Emilia Marie Davenport passed away February 19, 2012. Emilie as she was known to all who knew her was born January 17, 1925 in Krakow, Poland to the Jagla family and she came to the United States through Ellis Island after WWII.
Emilie is survived by her son Douglas and his wife Linda of Massillon, her daughters Deborah Debbie Phillips and her husband Rick, Diane Holmes and son Danny and his wife Kathy all of Wooster; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and dearest friend Marilyn Rich.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and two brothers all who lived in Poland and son-in-law Jack Holmes of Wooster.
Emilie was a very loving and devoted mother and friend and a very patriotic and passionate American. She was retired from Rubbermaid and an avid Ohio sports fan. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday evening, February 23, 2012 from 6-8:00 p.m.
A service of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Moran officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne Co., 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
