WOOSTER “ Paul D. Franks, 91, of Wooster died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born January 29, 1921 in Wayne County the son of Clark and Ida Sherck Franks. He married Eleanor Williams on September 19, 1948. She survives.
Paul worked for Gordon Construction for several years. Then in 1951 he returned to his love of farming, which he did for the remainder of his life. Paul served in the U.S. Navy in WWII on a LCI in the South Pacific.
He was a member of Oak Chapel United Methodist Church, the Farm Bureau, American Legion Post 67 of Shreve and Airstream Land of Lakes of Ohio Unit, WBCCI. He was a former member of the Moreland Grange and the Gnat Boxers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Brown, grandson Adam Brown, niece Diane Figley Zollars and nephews Richard Neil, Gary Neil, Dennis Figley and James Figley.
Friends will be received on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oak Chapel United Methodist, 4203 W. Old Lincoln Way, Wooster with the Revs. Robin Dillon and John McLachlan officiating. Burial will follow in the Moreland Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Oak Chapel United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in his memory.
