WOOSTER – Doris E. Nathan, 67, of Wooster, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 at Akron City Hospital. She was born August 10, 1945 in Gettysburg, SD, daughter of Arthur and Anne Lassle Holzworth. She married Alan E. Nathan on June 18, 1968. He survives. Doris had a bachelor’s of education from Concordia College in St. Louis, Missouri and a Masters in Business from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She had been a school teacher for both public and private schools in St. Louis and had been the chief accountant at Union Electric in St. Louis, Missouri retiring in 1989. Doris was a very active member of the Zion Lutheran Church, was a member of AAUW. She loved listening to books on tape and reading, enjoyed spending time with her family and loved planning trips and traveling and history. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Timothy (April) Nathan of Pittsburgh and a daughter, Jennifer Nathan of Washington, DC; granddaughter, Savannah Grace Nathan and brothers, James, Loren and William Holzworth. Doris was preceded in death by her parents. Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. Services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster with the Rev. Anne Paynter officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinkley.
