George P. Tomko, 88, of Wooster died Friday July 18, 2013 at Burbank Parke.
He was born February 24, 1925 in Rossiter, PA son of George J. and Anne Mizerock Tomko.
On January 21, 1948 he married Kathryn E. Bowers who survives.
George worked for G.M. as a machinist for many years.   He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Air Force.   George was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the American Legion, the V.F.W. and the Knights of Columbus.   He enjoyed his family, Big Band and Opera music, trout fishing, hunting and baseball, football and basketball.
Along with his wife Kathryn, George is survived by his children Sharon (Mark) Greenberg, Jeffrey (Maribeth) Tomko and George M. Tomko; grandchildren Mary Catherine Sanders, John Michael (Trisha) Schroeder, Katie (Brady) Damron, Jeffrey (Anne) Tomko, Colleen (Mike) Fowler, Christopher (Tiffany) Schroeder and Meghan (fiancee Dave Rieth)  Tomko; great grandchildren Alex and Andrew Sanders, Jack and Danny Fowler, Madison, Jackson and Ethan Schroeder and sisters Sylvia Hohmann and Carol Linke.
George was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Jean Yount.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday July 22, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with Rev. Stephen Moran as celebrant.   The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-5 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St, Wooster.   Inurnment will be held 11:30 A.M. July 16, 2013 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
