WOOSTER “ Helen Elizabeth Gozinsky Shankleton, 91, of Wooster passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Smithville Western Care Center.
She was born May 22, 1922 in North Jackson, Ohio, Mahoning County, the daughter of Michael and Mary Horak Rogozinsky who were born in Gima, Terlo Rustykain, Austria. She was married to Robert H. Shankleton.   He preceded her in death.
She attended Bedford High School and had worked in retail sales for 25 years.   She had lived in Vermillion, Ohio for 35 years and had previously lived in Brecksville and Maple Heights, Ohio and since December, 2010 had resided at Smithville Western Care Center.
She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Sue) of Wooster and Donald (Betty) of Montgomery, Texas; grandchildren, Lori Murphy, Eric (Kim), Jeff, Michael (Hedi)  and Jason (Jennifer)  Shankleton; great-grandchildren, Kerrigan, Naomi, Noah, Cassandra, Logan, Rowan, Colin and Harper and a brother George.
In addition to her husband, Helen was preceded by her parents and siblings Andrew, Ann, Steven, Kathleen, Mary, John and Joseph.
There will be no services or calling hours.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
