WOOSTER – Earl P EMLER, 90, of Wooster, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born January 16, 1924 in Newcomerstown, the son of Dewey and Anna V Wilson Emler.   He married Betty Carmichael on October 16, 1965.   She survives.
He retired as a meter technician after 42 years with the Ohio Power Co.   Member of the Wooster United Methodist Church, member of the Ohio Power Retirees and the Stark Wilderness Center.   Following his retirement, he and his wife spent 10 years in Mercedes, Texas.   Earl enjoyed wood carving and being with his family.   He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Randy (Mary Sinco) Emler of Texas, Candace Lint of PA, Thomas Emler of Akron; step-daughters, Carolyn (David) Funk   and Sharon (Don) Vlcek of Wooster; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; a   brother Jim (Shirley)  Emler of Gnadenhutten, Ohio.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Jeanette in 1964, a  sister, Doris Murphy and brothers, Don, Bobby and Gerald Emler.
There will be no calling hours.
Private family services will be held.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
