ASHLAND – Nancy Catherine Murphy, 77, of Ashland, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born October 7, 1936 in Cleveland, daughter of William Thomas and Elizabeth Carroll Sinnott. On November 26, 1960 she married Gregory John Murphy. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1996.
Nancy was a Homemaker and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and volunteered at Wooster Community Hospital as a pink lady and at St. John’s West Shore Hospital.
Surviving are her children, Nancy (James) Dalton of Litchfield, Colleen (Jeff) Bell of Kirkland, WA, Gregory (Donna) Murphy Jr. of Ashland and Brian (Lahari) Murphy of Powell; grandchildren Kathleen, Sheamus, Ian and Aidan Dalton, Joshua, Jonathon and Matthew Bell, Benjamin, Samantha, Jamison and Dylan Murphy; siblings Carroll (George) Dietzel of Mayfield Heights, Col. (Ret.) W. Thomas (Nancy) Sinnott of Easton, MD, and Peggy (Ted) Brock of Cave City, KY; Sister Mary St. John,PCC and Jacqueline Rhoney both of Cleveland.
Along with her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Eileen Gilmore Gold and Patricia Dusenbury.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday March 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with Fr. Stephen Moran officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
