WOOSTER “ John Douglas Ott, 59, of Wooster passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at his home.
He was born November 5, 1954 in Canton, the son of Dalton Jacob and Mary K. Gossmar Ott.   He married Kathryn L. Bent on September 4, 1976 in Columbus.   She survives.
He was the Director of the Physical Plant at the OARDC.   A member of the Orrville Christian Church, he enjoyed gardening and plants, model trains, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.   He was the Assistant Leader and Adviser of Boy Scout of America Troop 66, a member of the Gnat Boxers Square Dance Club and MAPPA.   John had formerly lived in Manhattan, Kansas and Rowlett, Texas.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jason Douglas (Meighan) Ott, Jared Michael (Crystal) Ott, Benjamin Jacob Ott and Daniel James Ott; his mother, Mary K. Ott; grandchildren Rachel The ™re ™se Ott, Lauren Emily Ott, Miles Patrick Ott and Lylah Grace Ott; an aunt Betty Gossmar; brothers, David (Elaine) Ott and Dennis (Leanne) Ott and a sister, Judy (Robert) Haas and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Wednesday evening, April 30, 2014 from 7-9:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Orrville Christian Church, 925 Elm Street, Orrville on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev ™s John Malpas and Tom Ledford officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
