WOOSTER “ Darrell D. Shamp, Sr., 72, of Wooster passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015 at LifeCare Hospice, Gault Inpatient Unit, Wooster.
He was born October 9, 1942 in Wooster, the son of Clyde and Nora Moose Shamp.   He married Cheryl Scheibe on October 11, 1975.   She survives.
He had been employed at Frito Lay for 35 years.   He loved the outdoors, deer hunting and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Darrell Shamp, Jr. of Sewert, Alaska, Scott Shamp of Wooster, Tammy Shamp Vas of Carpentersville, Illinois and Mandy (Chris) Shearer of Wooster, Brian Bickel of Wooster and Wes (Michelle) Bickel of Howard; grandchildren, Anthony Vas, Kelsie Gerber, Collin, Ethan and Jayton Shearer, Skylar and Carolyn Bickel; his siblings, Andrain (Helen) Shamp, Dale (Donna) Shamp and Janice Clark all of Smithville and Myron Shamp of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Brittni Blankenship, a brother Clyde Shamp, Jr. and a sister, Esther Brant.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Jeremy Stasiowski officiating.
