Jean Tina Kline, age 87, was peacefully lifted to heaven to meet her Lord and Savior on November 21, 2017, while she was surrounded by her family.
Jean was born on December 4, 1929, in Burbank, to Charles and Daisy Yost Strouse.   After graduating from Lodi High School, Jean worked as the Lodi switchboard telephone operator after WWII.  Jean devoted her life to her husband, Gene C. Kline, of 56 years and raising her four children.   A member of the Red Haw United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Gene and Jean also attended the Ashland Grace Brethren Church.     As newlyweds, Gene and Jean raised pigs and eleven hundred hens and broilers. Eggs were seventy cents a dozen and farm prices showed a profit as a result of the Korean War. Together they earned the down payment to purchase the Willow Grove Angus Farm.   Jean took pride in sewing, gardening, and canning and won many blue ribbons for her flowers and vegetables at the Ashland County Fair. Jean was a member of the Ohio and American Angus Auxiliary.   Jean and Gene traveled to Virginia to buy Angus calves every fall and she enjoyed supporting her family showing prize Angus cattle at county, state and national shows. They also enjoyed traveling to Florida and taking several cruises.
Jean remained focused and dedicated to her life values always saying a simple thank you .   The family extends a œSpecial Thanks to the staff at LifeCare Hospice and grandson, John Christopher Kline for providing patience and gentle caring for Jean.
Family and friends are invited to honor Jean ™s life on Saturday, December 2 at 12 noon at the West Salem United Methodist Church, 80 E. Buckeye St., West Salem with Pastor Curt Young officiating.  Burial will be in the West Salem Cemetery.
