WOOSTER – Carolyn Humbert Rasmussen, 81, died on Saturday, December 23, 2017.
She was born in Akron, OH on April 20, 1936, to Margaret and Russell Humbert. Dr. Humbert served as the senior minister of major Methodist churches in Akron, Toledo and Youngstown, before becoming, in the early 1950s, President of DePauw University in Greencastle, IN.
Carolyn graduated from DePauw in 1959 and promptly married Frank Rasmussen, then a law student in Cambridge, MA. The following year the couple moved to Cleveland and for the next 40 years lived on Cleveland’s east side, mostly in Chagrin Falls.
Besides raising three children (daughter Katy Daniels, and sons Jamie and Pete), Carolyn worked for Hospice of the Western Reserve, serving stints as Director of Volunteers and then as Chaplain.
She is survived by her husband, Frank, by her three children, by eight grandchildren and by three greatgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church,   621 College Ave., Wooste with the Rev. David Rice officiating.
The family recommends that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
