WOOSTER “ Robert F. Mairs, DVM, 81 of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
He was born September 19, 1936 in Shreve, the son of Robert E. and Frances Ewing Mairs.   He married Patricia L. Tyrrell on August 21, 1955.   She survives.
He had been a veterinarian for 50 years in Shreve and Wooster.   He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, the Elks Lodge, the 20/30 Club, the Wayne Co. Coin Club, Orrville Coin Club, Ohio Veterinarian Medical Assoc., the Wayne Co. Saddle Club and the Corvair Car Club.   He was also a knife maker, coin collector and he enjoyed traveling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Robert M. Mairs, Lori (David) Hershey and Richard A. (Sharry Starner) Mairs all of Wooster; a granddaughter, Andrea (Ryan) Billman of Sterling; a sister, Julia (Gordon) Martini of Florida and foster siblings, Florence œSis  Wallace of Findlay and Joan Swick of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 6-8:00 p.m.
There will be no funeral services.
