WOOSTER “ William E. œBill  Beam, 81, of Wooster died peacefully with his loving family at his side on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Ohio ™s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster
He was born June 4, 1936 in Wooster, the son of Gaius and Audrey Kessler Beam.
Bill was a 1955 graduate of Wooster High School and was inducted into the Army as a tank driver during the Korean conflict and patrolled the border in Communist Germany.  
Then, he met the love of his life Donna at Cosmetology School and was married for 56 years.  Bill retired as a firefighter with the City of Wooster Fire Dept.  He also was the bookkeeper for Sheer Professionals for 41 years.   As a life member of the Elks Lodge and the Broken Lock Gun Club, he enjoyed many friendships with his buddies.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Donna Sturm Beam; a son, Richard œRick  Beam of Columbus; grandchildren Nathaniel Beam and MacKenzie Beam and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Robert and Don Beam and Shirley Brown, nephews, Donald Beam and Jerry Shell.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with his nephew, Rev. Jason Woolford officiating.   Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
