WEST SALEM Penny Sue Edington, 61, of West Salem passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at her home.
She was born September 10, 1956 in Ashland, the daughter of Clyde and Verla Mae Eckelberry Long. She married Mark Edington on November 8, 1981. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2014.
She had been a school bus driver for Northwestern Schools for the last 21 years. Penny was a member of the Mohican Church of the Brethren. Penny loved the outdoors, hunting with her family, mushroom hunting with her friends, walking the beach and searching for sea shells, riding horses, traveling and animals.
She loved spending time with friends and especially loved her family, her church community and all her bus kids and families.
Surviving are her children, Brande (Clint) Rowe, George (Kari) Edington and Marnie (Phil) Hauser; her mother of Ashland; grandchildren, Dvon, Rory, Abby, Kolten, Stryder and Skylar, her special granddaughter who put a smile on her face every time she entered the room; her brothers, Rick Long, Sam (Colleen) Long and her dog Lilly.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, a son, Zeb Edington, her sister-in-law Pam Long and her father and mother-in-law, Leland and Jolan Edington.
Friends will be received at the Mohican Church of the Brethren, 7759 N. Elyria Rd., West Salem on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 4-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with the Rev. Paul Bartholomew officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
