Helen T. Questel passed on to Heaven peacefully on Thursday afternoon, June 14, 2018.
She was born on June 22, 1929 in Tallmadge, Ohio to Robert D. & Eva Mae France Treat and married J.T. Questel on June 13, 1948, he passed on to Heaven on November 3, 2017.
Helen attended Kent State University, majoring in music until being interrupted by a husband going to medical school. She ran the medical practice with her husband for 30 years, volunteered at the fair for 33 years with Bob Keating at his concession stands, was organist for four years at Trinity United Church of Christ, along with playing the bells and singing in the choir for many years. She also played for funerals at McIntire Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home for 14 years. As she loved to play the organ, she also was a member for many years in the McDowell Club.
At home she kept busy with things around the farm (canning, freezing, along with children and grandchildren).
Surviving are children Brian T. (Gloria), Kelvin L. (Karen), Sharon L. & Marlin W. (Jill), Nine grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren including Mom and Dad’s sweet Lillian whom visited often. A sister, Dorothy Taylor, sisters in law Catherine DeMattia, Cecile Acker, & Jean Questel, brothers in law Louis Questel, and Ray DeMattia.
Helen was preceeded in death by her parents, J.T., husband of 69 years, brothers in law Robert P. Taylor, John Questel, Irvin Sowards & Howard Acker, sisters in law Anne Sowards & Mary Questel
Memorial service will be held Friday June 22, 2018 at 1:00 pm at McIntire, Bradham, & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Reverend Stephen P. Olsen officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
