John G SNYDER, 79, of Wooster, OH, passed away March 23, 2019 after fighting a long battle of Lewy Body Dementia.
John was born in Weston, WV on July 6, 1939, son of Carl and Mabel Knicely Snyder.
On April 28, 1960, John married Ethel Roberts, she survives.
He was a 1957 graduate of Lewis County High School. John retired from Sprint Phone Company after 37 years of service.
In addition to his beloved wife Ethel, he is survived by son, Gary (Jennifer) Snyder of Lodi, son Jeffery (Helen) Snyder of Wooster, daughter Susan (Kevin) Carpenter of Weston, WV and daughter Quintina (Mike) Dowd of Wooster. John loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Melissa Leavitt, Abby Snyder, Haley Snyder, Justin Snyder, Hannah Dowd, Morgan Snyder, Madison Snyder, Samuel Albrecht, and Jocelynn Lamp and his siblings Neil Snyder of Massillon, Denny (Jan) Snyder of Weston, WV, and Carol (Randy) Chapman of Jane Lew, WV.
John was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Cleveland Browns and the West Virginia Mountaineers. John’s family was his pride and joy. All of these he loved and touched him very deeply.
John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Burton, Jerry and Terry Snyder and a daughter Pamela Snyder.
At John’s request there will be no visitation and a private celebration of his life with immediate family will be held.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, is assisting the family.
