James Duane Kurth, 88, of Wooster died on Monday November 18, 2019 at his home.
He was born August 18, 1931 in Neffs, Ohio to James Edward and Dortha Phillips Kurth. He was a graduate of Ohio University and LaVerne College and had been a math and science teacher in California.
James served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was an avid historian and reader, especially loving war history.
He is survived by his sons Timothy Raymond Kurth and Jason Edward Kurth; three grandchildren; sister Barbara Bostancic of Wooster, a brother William Kurth of St. Clairsville and several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Ruth Ann Lucas and Eleanor Sramcik.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
