Ted L. Ayers, Sr., 87, of Wooster died Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Ohio s Hospice LifeCare.
He was born November 10, 1932 in Danville, IL to Russell Ayers and Meriam Hutchins. On December 21, 1957, he married Martha Marty Caudill. She survives.
Ted served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired in 1982 from the OARDC as a technician in the Dairy Science Department. Ted was a very family oriented man and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, building things around the house and riding his motorcycle. He was an artistic person and was passionate about drawing and painting with the use of vivid color.
Along with his wife, Ted is survived by his children Ted (Bertie) Ayers, Jr. of Nashville and Tammy (Mark) Ayers Funchess of Bend, OR; step-daughter Rosemary Eaton of Saunemin, IL; grandchildren Emily (BJ) West, Ted (Angie) Ayers, III and Shane (Sabrina) Funchess; great-grandchildren Maverick, Parker, Isla May, Riley and Lilly, Shelby Lynn (Mike) Shull; great-great grandchildren Waylon and Wayde; step-great-granddaughter Hailey and a brother Terry (Rita) Ayers.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
