WOOSTER Paul E. Conn, 94, of Wooster passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at Ohio s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.
He was born November 8, 1925 in Wayne County the son of Olie and Mary E. Mowrer Conn. He married Mary Lou Gasbarre on September 28, 1949. She preceded him in death on May 23, 1997.
Paul was a 1944 graduate of Smithville High School and retired in 1986 from Timken Steel after 30 years of employment. After his retirement he drove for Pallotta Ford. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus. Paul enjoyed golf, watching sports, especially baseball, polka music and dancing.
He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Harlan R. Dickson.
Surviving are his children Larry P. (Jane) Conn of Wooster and Paula A. (Frank) Reiland of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren Jeffrey (Tasya) Conn of Powell, OH, Jason Conn of San Diego, CA and Sean Reiland of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; a brother-in-law Vincent Delpropost; a sister-in-law Florence Keltz and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded by brother s Ralph, Walter, Raymond and Harold Conn and sisters Margaret Miller and Beulah Hartman.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with Rev. Stephen Moran as celebrant. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

Larry and Paula, I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss your father too. He treated me well and took the time to talk to me every time I visited Wooster. Always liked talking with him about “life” and current events. He was a “regular guy” who served his country and didn’t seem to give it a second thought.
Uncle Paul was a wonderful person. I remember him as someone who was always smiling when I saw him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
