LAS VEGAS, NV     – Thomas Jay œHux  Huxley, 70, of Las Vegas and formerly of Wooster died peacefully on July 30, 2020 at Affinity Hospice of Las Vegas after contracting COVID-19.
He was born November 26, 1949 in Wooster to Thomas Jay Huxley and Marjorie Arlene Huxley.   He had graduated from Wooster High School in 1968 and earned a degree from The Ohio State University/ATI in Turf Management.   He had worked as a Veterans Employment Representative for the ODJFS for the State of Ohio from 1997-2004 and previously was employed as a Life Insurance Salesman for Combined Life Insurance.
Hux loved helping Veterans, all sports teams, especially Ohio State and the Cleveland Indians.
He proudly served his country with the US Army from 1969-1971.
Surviving is his sister, Bonnie Mong of Wooster, his brother Tim (Carol) Huxley of Apple Valley and a half-sister Jayne Ann Gillespy of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Ted Huxley, a brother-in-law Bud Mong, a sister-in-law Donna Huxley and his beloved dog œPuppy .
Due to COVID-19 there will be no calling hours.
Private family graveside services at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020 with live streaming on the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Facebook page beginning at 1:30 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Adaptive Sports of Ohio, 100 Kurzen Rd. N., Dalton, OH 44618 or Diabetes Assoc., 1815 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313.
