NEW PITTSBURG – C. Thomas Stull, known to the New Pittsburg community as Tom Stull celebrated his 83rd birthday
by entering the gates of heaven on December 11, 2020. Tom entered the world on his father ™s birthday, December 11th in 1937.
Tom worked at Harold Cook, Weygandt Incorporated/ Sterling Farm selling International farm equipment.
Tom proudly served as a firefighter on the New Pittsburg Volunteer Fire Department for 52 years and was also on the board of directors. During preparation for the annual Ice Cream Festival, he was sure to eat his fair share of homemade ice cream.
He loved family trips to Florida. All of his grandchildren and the oldest great-grandchild had the opportunity to hear him sing œIt ™s a Small World while riding his favorite Disney ride.
Tom was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in New Pittsburg where he sang in the choir for many years and also served on numerous committees. He served his country as a member of the Shreve National Guard.
Whenever there was a Northwestern Husky sporting event, Tom could be found in the crowd.   He especially enjoyed watching all three granddaughters and their friends play sports and was known as Grandpa Stull to them.
Showing Hampshire pigs was a true love.   His showing days began at an early age as he and his brother, Dick, showed hogs at a number of county fairs around the state.   He later inspired his son to raise Hampshire hogs as his FFA project.   This father-son partnership grew and has continued since 1980 known as Stull Hamp Farm. The family attended many hog shows both at the county and national level over the years and prior to this year had exhibited at the Ohio State Fair since 1982. He always had a conversion van and insisted that it had a tv so that his grandchildren had a comfortable ride to the shows.
His involvement in the swine industry continued with his 35 year involvement with the Wayne County Hog Show, which was often acknowledged by Wayne County ™s legendary auctioneer, Dave Acker. Dave always said that Tom has been around as long as the Wayne County Hog Show. Not only did Tom work the ring, but assisted many youth by housing their projects on the family farm so they had the opportunity to participate in 4-H.   He thoroughly enjoyed his time watching his granddaughters walk their pigs in his backyard.
In his younger years, Tom participated in athletics at Jeromesville High School. He continued to play softball on various teams including the Wooster Merchants (better known to their City Slo-Pitch foes as the Untouchables), but his favorite was being coach of the successful St. Pete ™s men ™s softball team.
Tom is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of 58 years, daughter, Brenda Stull, son, Brad (Molly) Stull and grandchildren, Chelsea (Spencer Jr) Hershey, Katie and Riley Stull and great grandchildren Spencer III and Peyton Hershey. He is also survived by siblings, Richard Stull and Ilene Cutlip.
Tom was active in many things, but he always made trips in his truck to check daily on his granddaughters who were very fortunate to live just a few miles from his home.   They often took trips together to purchase chocolate crinkle cookies or ice cream treats. Tom and Marilyn could be found many nights going out to eat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Edna (Howman) Stull.
The family would like to thank Brenda Hershey, Angie Buzzard, and the Hospice staff for assisting us with his care during his final weeks in his home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to the New Pittsburg Volunteer Fire Department, (Roger Kamp, 1466 Perry Township Road 35, Wooster, OH 44691) or St. Peter Lutheran Church (9451 Ashland Road, Wooster), or Hospice LifeCare, (1900 Akron Rd, Wooster).
A family graveside service will be held at New Pittsburg Cemetery with Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating.   A celebration of Tom ™s life will be held at a later date.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Tom was a special man who I will always remember as a faithful fan at Husky sporting events, seeing he and Marilyn at church on Sunday’s, and his signature wave as he drove by my childhood home. 11. Marilyn and Family—We were very sorry to read the sad news about Tom. He was a good friend of ours for many years, and we all remember when we were the Young People of the Community (“YOPECO”). That was a long time ago, but a very good memory! We hope that Tom’s nice family, and many good memories like that, will help you through this sad time. Our condolences to all of you.

I still remember going with my Dad to one of MY great clinets
of Dad: STULL’S. Probably ’cause I loved Mrs. Stull (his Mom) when I was young,
and gave me GREAT cookies, like Tom had!
I pray TOM is now at PEACE!…with his great personality, and caring for
    people all the time!
