Edith M. Smith, 90, of Wooster died on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Brookdale Wooster.
She was born March 17, 1930 in Austinburg to Roy F. and Ruth M. Harper Mead.   On July 3, 1948 she married Edward B. Smith.   He preceded her in death in 1989.
Edith was a homemaker and attended the Wooster United Methodist Church and the Apple Creek United Methodist Church.   For many years, she worked at Freelander ™s over the holidays and volunteered in the Wooster Community Hospital Gift Shop.   She enjoyed Sewing, crocheting, latch hooking and needlepoint.
She is survived by her daughter, Renee Smith of Wooster; sister Florence Vesey of Kingsville along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Edith is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Beth Smith and siblings Alta Smith, Donald Mead, Margaret Fronce, Francis Mead, Howard Mead and Helen Mead.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 1:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Rev. Jim Cooper officiating.   Interment will follow in Apple Creek Cemetery.
Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
There will be no calling hours.

  1. Renee – Sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. I know this has been a difficult journey and in many ways you lost her some time ago. Part of you may feel relief that she is now at peace but it is still hurts when she is finally gone. My thoughts are with you.
