Barbara Jayne Boyes, 89, of Wooster passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Ohio ™s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.
She was born September 13, 1932 in West Salem the daughter of Cecil and Mary Helen Grube Palmer. She married Henry Virgil Boyes on April 7, 1951 at the Wooster Baptist Temple. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and the grandchildren just loved her. Barbara was even a œgrandmother  at church “ she talked to everybody. Her children were often told; œYour mother is just the sweetest person.  Barbara had simple tastes “ Papa Johns was a favorite of hers. She loved to cook and she loved her family. Barbara never had an unkind word to say about anyone.
Surviving are her children Deborah (Bob) Swisher, Diane (Joel) Chupp, and Scott (Susan) Boyes; grandchildren Leslie (Rob) Marshall, Ryan (Sharra) Swisher, Jeremy (Melissa) Chupp, Anita (Mike Wylde) Chupp Wylde, Matthew (Tara) Chupp, Natalie Kolp, Emily (Ryan) Chenevey, Rachael Boyes, and Daniel Boyes; great-grandchildren Ali (Josiah) Shalala, Tanyon Franks, Corbin Marshall, Delaney Marshall, Reid Swisher, Blake Swisher, Elli Swisher, Charlotte Chenevey, Grace Chupp, Gabe Chupp, Hannah Chupp, Nathan Chupp, Aden Roberts, Jack Wylde, Raven Wylde, Rey Wylde, Sylvie Wylde, Noah Kolp, and Lucas Kolp; great-great-grandchildren Breyson, Asher, and Brielle Shalala.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings Betty Mann, William Palmer, twin Beverly J. Fry George, Marilyn Stephenson, and Jerry Palmer.
Private family services will be held with Chaplain Daron Butler officiating.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., in Wooster is assisting the family.

  1. Barb was one classy lady. She was one of the kindest individuals I had the pleasure of knowing. Barb was a dedicated wife and mother, and more than anything loved and served her Lord faithfully. I will always remember Barbie’s love and kindness toward me every time we saw one another. The world lost a precious soul, but Heaven gained a child of God who had served her Father well. To God be the glory!

  2. Barb was a beautiful person would always have a smile and a kind word to say I enjoyed Seether at the Wooster eye center when she came in for adjustments. God bless her soul and I will miss her ♥️♥️

  3. Barb was truly a woman with a Christ filled spirit. Her smile always filled the room. We know she will be missed by all her family and friends. She will always be thought fondly of. Jann loved setting beside her in The West Hill Baptist Choir, she had a beautiful alto voice, Our deepest sympathy.

  4. Aunt Barbara was married to my momma’s twin brother, Virgil ! I remember her being the sweetest lady with a great sense of humor and lots of love !

  6. Dear Debbie and ALL your Families, I’m so sorry to hear of your MOTHER’s death. I remember all the fun we had together when I stayed overnight at you home where your MOM always made me feel so welcomed and yes she was a wonderful cook.
