Marjorie (Annie) Mae Wakefield went to be with Jesus on December 29, 2021 at the age of 93. She passed away at home surrounded by family after a short period of illness. She was one of five children born to LaVerle and Ruth Moreland Lee. Annie was born June 11, 1928 in Big Prairie, Ohio and spent most of her adolescent life in the Holmes County area. She graduated from Big Prairie Lakeville High School in 1945. During high school she enjoyed softball, basketball and cheerleading.
She was preceded in death by her parents LaVerle and Ruth Moreland Lee, husband Delbert Wakefield, brothers Richard and Robert Lee, sister Eloise Schafer and her beloved son Terry Wakefield. She is survived by her sister Kathleen Leighty; son Danny (Phyllis) Wakefield of Wooster; four daughters Deborah (Brian) Houghton of Connersville, IN, Vicki Snodgrass and Susan Watkins both of West Salem and Penny (Dan) D’Angelo of Jacksonville, FL; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and her much loved dog, Molly.
Annie was married to Delbert Wakefield on August 6, 1949. She spent most of her adult life in the Wayne County area. During her wonderful life she worked at various places but primarily on the farm assisting her husband and being a loving mother and devoted wife. Annie enjoyed spending time with family and friends; talking with everyone she met and scratching Lotto tickets. Annie was deeply loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed by many people.
A private family service will be held with Pastor Tadd Sponseller officiating. Burial will be in Wooster Cemetery.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

I was sorry to hear of Annie’s passing. The last time I saw her was at the Pantry on 250 with her daughter, Susie. I always thought Lori & I would come a visit, but didn’t. Just wanted to let you know I am thinking of all of you at this time.

So sorry about the loss of aunt Annie.. She sure had an amazing long & happy life. I will always cherish all the wonderful times together. May GOD’S love comfort each of you at this difficult time.
