Ellen Elizabeth Starling, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, died January 28, 2022, in Bradenton, Florida where she had moved several months ago.
She was born December 2, 1977 in Wooster, Ohio to Ken Starling and Susan Snyder Starling (now Beno).
Ellen thoroughly enjoyed her high school years at Wooster where she cheered for both football and basketball, played violin in the orchestra, edited the yearbook, and ran on the track and field team. At Lynchburg College, class of 2000, she majored in communication studies, was a cheerleader and a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
Ellen loved her career as an event and wedding planner in various cities and excelled at keeping brides calm on their special day.
Many of those years she lived in the South Carolina low country, loving the warm weather. But living away from Ohio did not keep her from cheering on her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.
More recently, Ellen returned home to Wooster for several years, and her friendly, out-going smile greeted friends and others as she undertook various positions. During that time, she helped care for her father during his illness, all the while bravely and courageously facing her own struggles.
Ellen is survived by her mother and stepfather Susan and Jack Beno of Wooster, sister and brother-in-law Beth and Brad Keck of Wadsworth, and niece and nephew Edie and Joseph Keck. Ellen loved being their aunt and would often declare Edie to be her favorite person in the whole world. Survivors also include aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Her father, Ken Starling, predeceased her as did her grandparents, Verne and Juanita Snyder and Walter and Jean Starling.
Zoey was among many dogs and other animals rescued, loved and cared for over the years by Ellen. Donations in Ellen’s memory may be made to Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster OH 44691.

Thinking of you and praying you find moments of peace and comfort in the midst of your grief. Ellen will always walk beside you everyday. Sweet memories are on the horizon. Hugs to my lifelong friend
My deepest sympathy for your loss, I know she will be missed. I knew Ellen while she lived in Beaufort SC and our group of “friends” would often get together. I have fond memories of spending time with her and remembering how she loved the job she had here. Ellen did love animals 🙂 she would watch my dogs when I would go out of town and I knew she was going to take care of them like they were her own. I’ve seen how many good memories people have of her and I hope that she can Rest In Peace knowing she made her mark in such a good way on this earth.
We are so sorry for your loss. You are in our prayers

Ellen was my friend and sister in law. We shared many memories and holidays in Beaufort. For at least a decade, Ellen was part of the family, attending every celebration and holiday dinner we ever threw. It pains me to know she is gone. It’s difficult to imagine not hearing her laugh. She truly was a cheerleader to so many. We share a love of animals, especially dogs, and I will always remember how many she rescued over the years. I am endlessly sorry for the loss, pain and grief you all are experiencing. Rest In Peace, Ellen.
So hard to do this. Losing a friend that helped me throughout my life and helped so many. My early memories were at Parkview and my last memories were just a few months ago when she visited me down here in North Carolina. We danced at junior high dances. She decorated my locker during football season. My first year in college she came to visit me when I was homesick. My College baseball team traveled to Fort Myers and she was visiting family and we made sure we saw each other.
Condolences to a great family.
Susie Jack,Beth,Brad and kids.
I’m so saddened by Ellen’s death, or should I say, the Kraft macaroni and cheese girl. Her picture should be on the box..lol
I loved her smile and vivacious greeting she gave to everyone..
I know she is in the arms of Jesus and her “Rad Bad Dad”…healed and cheering the crowds of angels..
Hold on to the memories, as I will
Much Love, Connie and Bailey
