Helen K. Louttit, age 98, of Wooster passed away September 8, 2022 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.
She was born in Akron to John and Anna Kozak and graduated as Salutatorian from Garfield High School in Akron and attended the University of Akron. She had been married to Richard Louttit, Sr and moved to Wooster and joined the United Methodist Church in 1948.
Her secretarial career began at Firestone Tire and Rubber in Akron, then in Wooster at W.G. Whitaker & Son, followed by 26 years at Rubbermaid where she retired in 1988 as the salaried payroll person. She was an avid theater goer and volunteer usher for the Canal Fulton Theater and Ohio Light Opera. She particularly liked the Broadway Series at Playhouse Square in Cleveland. Helen’s other interests included traveling, jigsaw puzzling, needlework, flower gardening, lunching with the “Ditzy Dames” and especially celebrating special occasions and holidays with family.
Helen is survived by son James; step-daughter-in-law June Ackerman Louttit, step-grandson Richard (Linda) Louttit; step-granddaughter Holly Jo Louttit McMorrow; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John (Agatha) Kozak; sister Sue (Arthur) Morgillo; step-son Richard Louttit, Jr. and step-daughter Barbara Mansfield.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held with Pastor Jim Cooper of Wooster United Methodist Church officiating.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
