Neal Ronald Meier, 84, of Wooster died on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Wooster Community Hospital.

He was born February 20, 1938 in Apple Creek to Earl and Lucille Lehman Meier.  On February 23, 1957, he married Janice Yankello.  She survives.

Neal retired after working more than 30 years for the Ford Motor Company as a plastics engineer.  He enjoyed his family, loved Michigan football, traveling overseas (Germany was his favorite), westerns, John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies.

Along with his wife, Neal is survived by his children Jacqueline (Tim) Pearson of Wooster, Cynthia (Brian) Tripp of Michigan, Jody (Charles) Wilson of Michigan, Neal (Betsy) Meier, Jr. of Wooster, Heidi (Steve) Pankow of Michigan, Eric (Nancy) Meier of Chicago and Gina (Andrew) Cyrulnik of Michigan; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

There will be no services.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  1. Cousin Janice my thoughts and prayers are with you and family. I remember so well your wedding day. I had little extended contact with Neal but during the few times we interacted, he was always kind and friendly to me. God bless you dear Janice.
