Phyllis Jean Maley, 82, of Wooster died on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Ohio State University Hospital.

She was born September 11, 1940 in Lodi to James and Edith Morris Troyer.  On September 23, 1961, she married Regis Maley at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster.  He survives.

Phyllis obtained her associate’s degree from Fenn College in Cleveland, where she met Regis, and also graduated from the Huron Road School of Nursing.  She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church where she had been a musician as well as a musician for East Union Lutheran Church.  Phyllis had worked as a nurse for both The Wooster Clinic and The College of Wooster.  She enjoyed painting and reading mysteries.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her children Patrick (Margie Berkey) Maley of Wooster Kathryn (Mike) Aller of Canton and Elizabeth (John) McMahan of Erie, PA; grandchildren Aaron (Ruby) Maley, Joshua McMahan and Katriana McMahan; nephews Mark Somerville and Eric Somerville.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marilyn Somerville.

Per her wishes, there will be no services at this time.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
