James Randell “Randy” Blair, 72, of Wooster died on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at his home.

He was born December 10, 1950 in Wooster to James Edward and Virginia Mae Cox Blair.  On July 17, 1970 he married Beth Leighty.  She survives.

Randy retired from Smithville Manufacturing.  He enjoyed bowling, playing video games, hunting, fishing and hunting both ginseng and mushrooms.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #68 and the Wooster Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #811.

Along with his wife, Randy is survived by his children James Randel “Randy” (Anissa) Blair of Shreve, Sherry Lee Blair of Wooster, Shannon Marie Bennett of Wooster and Melinda Sue (Todd) Goddard of Orrville along with multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Danny Ray Blair.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday October 7, 2023 at 11:00AM at Wooster Nazarene, 3100 Oak Hill Rd, Wooster with Pastor Nate Ward officiating.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

Contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.

  1. So sorry to hear about Randy! Our prayers are with you all! I’m sorry I won’t be able to make it Saturday my grandson will be selling his fair pig that morning .

  3. To the Blair family and friends, I offer my deepest condolences! I have many memories of Randy from our schooldays. And again, as our children grew up together. Randy will always be fondly remembered!
