James L. Speicher, 76, of Wooster passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.

He was born July 18, 1947, in Wooster the son of Ralph and Dorothy Billiar Speicher. On August 31, 1970, he married Sara Gilt. She survives.

James served his country proudly with the United States Army. He was a 1967 graduate of Wooster High School. James had been the Plant Manager for Felsted Division for 30 years before retiring in 2010. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and history. He was a member of the N.R.A. and the American Legion Post #68. James also enjoyed vintage cars, drag racing, and most importantly spending time with his family. He was a man who faithfully took his family to church. James was a member of West Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Sara, he is survived by his children Aimee (Eric) Skaggs, Jamie (Becky) Speicher, Jason (Crystal) Speicher, and Michelle Fisher – all of Wooster; grandchildren Jonah (Alexandra) Skaggs, Daniel (Kia) Skaggs, Lindsey Skaggs, Garrett Speicher, Ian (Torrie) Speicher, Cayden Speicher, Brady Speicher, Blake Speicher, Morgan Speicher, Nicholas Speicher, Westin Speicher, Lilly Crist, Shea Fisher, Kyle Fisher, Elizabeth Fisher, Emma Fisher, and David Wilke; 2 great-grandchildren; and sister Colleen Martin of Charlotte, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Evelyn Speicher, Wanda Jolliff, William Speicher, and Margaret “Peggy” Achamire.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 1:00PM at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., in Wooster, with Pastor Dan Wingate officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Apple Creek Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

    I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again,,, Jim is, and will always be the face of Felsted
    He was a father like figure for anyone who knew him as I did
    He was kind and supportive to anyone and everyone

  4. I am so sad and yet filled with joy that Jim will be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ now . I was always encouraged in the Faith when I spent time with him Until we meet again my friend .

    Charlie and I are so sorry to hear about Jim’s passing. We pray that you the kids, the grandkids and the family will be comforted in your knowledge that he is now with his Savior.   30. So sorry to hear about Jim’s passing.
    Felsted was very lucky to have someone so dedicated to his employees. One of my best memories was during 911 and Jim had everyone go out to the pavilion where he prayed. That’s the kind of man Jim was!!

  31. Jim was a great guy and a God fearing man. He loved fishing, hunting, fast cars and most importantly his family and friends. He was a straight shooter and a man of strong conviction and faith. My condolences and prayers to Sara, their children and the many family members and friends. Jim is in the Lord’s loving arms free from pain and sorrow.
