Shirley Gale Combs, 72, of Wooster passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at her home.

She was born September 30, 1951 in Wooster to Hubert and Addrean Metcalf Combs.

Shirley was a founding member of West Hill Baptist Church where she enjoyed learning about God’s word.  She had worked for United Telephone Company of Ohio, Bell + Howell, Wayne County Child Protection Services and the Wayne County Juvenile Court.  Shirley enjoyed working crossword puzzles, listening to Alan Jackson and Aerosmith, the Cleveland Browns, spending time with her nieces and talking to family on the phone.  She also spent time volunteering with the Salvation Army by bell ringing at Christmas time until her hips and knees prevented her from continuing.

She is survived by her twin brother Roger Dale (Laurie Wing Porter) Combs of Omaha, NE; nieces Faith Porter Combs, Christina Jean Combs (Alex Joel) Reed, Justine Abigail Addrean Combs all of Omaha, NE; many cousins and an aunt Nanny Tolley.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 12:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Dan Wingate officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Wooster Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
