Carolyn Jane Curtis, 80, of Wooster passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, surrounded by her family at her residence.

She was born April 1, 1943, in Stark County the daughter of Arnold and Jeannetta Gerardat Stauffer. In 1965, she married Craig Curtis. He survives.

Carolyn drove school bus for Triway Local Schools for 25 years and was a homemaker. She had previously worked as a vet tech. Carolyn was a member of the T.O.P.S. Group, the Christian Business Women’s Club, and the Model A Club. She loved all kinds of animals, especially Jersey Cows. Carolyn also raised Corgi’s and Westie’s. She enjoyed spending time with her large family. Carolyn was a member of Grace Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are children Cathy (Jeff) King of Wooster, Christopher (Andrea) Curtis of Smithville, and Chad (Jennifer) Curtis of Smithville; grandchildren Nick, Jenessa, Cortney, Caitlin, Tiffany, Noah, Carly, and Khalil; great-grandchild Caroline; and siblings Larry, Gary, Marilyn, Edward Lee, Janet, Jackie, Lena, Elly, and Dorothy.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11:00AM at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., in Wooster, with Pastor Scott Fetter officiating. Burial will follow in Plain Township Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 4:00PM – 7:00PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

  2. Just imagine stepping on shore and finding it heaven and touching a hand and finding it God! Carolyn was a dear friend and I had talked with her many times about our time we’re going to be together in heaven! See you later Carolyn see you soon. Thanks for being such a great friend.   5. Andrea, and family, so very sorry to hear of Chris’s mother’s passing. Hoping you all find peace and comfort knowing she’s no longer suffering.
    I noticed that her maiden name was Stauffer. My Grandma Miller, from Smithville, was a Stauffer. Maybe we are related??

  6. So sorry to hear of Carolyn’s passing. I got to know her through the TOPS chapter. She was a faithful member and contributed a lot at our meetings. She sent many cards for birthdays and many with words of encouragement. We have missed her and will continue to miss her presence. I am praying that God will comfort you in your loss.

  10. Mrs. Curtis was my first bus driver, and my favorite bus driver. Thank you, Curtis family, for sharing her with so many children over the years. I cherish my memories of her. ❤️
