Sandra K. Maxwell, 81, of Wooster left her earthly home on Thursday, November 9, 2023, and was welcomed by her Lord and Savior into Heaven.

She was born August 5, 1942, in Wooster the daughter of Flossie Gingery Rittenhouse. On July 29, 1968, she married Richard G. “Pinky” Maxwell. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1988.

Sandy was a 1960 graduate of Wooster High School. She retired from ArtiFlex Manufacturing in 2012. Prior to that she and Pinky had owned and operated Maxwell Towing, in Wooster, for nearly 20 years. Sandy was an immersed believer in Jesus Christ who had attended several churches throughout her lifetime in Wooster. She was a huge fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes…and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians when the games mattered. Sandy also enjoyed playing cards and will be remembered for her high level of competitiveness when she played. But, most of all, she truly enjoyed spending time with family. Sandy loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with her whole heart. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting activities.

Sandy will be missed tremendously by those who loved her, and we anticipate a blessed reunion with her again one day.

She is survived by her children Douglas Hawkins, Ronald (Jan) Maxwell, Tanya (John) Anderson; a stepson Richard A. (Machelle) Maxwell; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Pinky, Sandy was preceded in death by her son Michael T. Maxwell in 2012; her sister Virginia Raymer and brother Bobbie F. Potts.

Private family services will be held with Chaplain Daron Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, is assisting the family.

Memorial contributions in Sandy’s name may be made to the American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or at www.stroke.org
