Elizabeth “Betty” Lou Sigler, 85, of Wooster died peacefully on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare with her family by her side.

She was born May 12, 1938 in Wooster to Clem Earl and Gladys Faye Short Porter.  She married Donald E. Sigler on August 20, 1961 in the Apple Creek United Methodist Church.  He survives.

Betty worked at the United Steel Fabricators in Wooster as a secretary after she graduated from Wooster High School in 1956.  She and Donald were both members of Plain Lutheran Church.  Betty had belonged to several clubs, namely Millbrook-Plain Township Homemakers; Shufflers Card Club; Blachleyville Garden Club; 1956 Classmates Breakfast Club and the Plain Lutheran Ladies Aid.

Along with her husband, Betty is survived by her sons Bruce (Rebecca) Sigler and Benjamin (Ginger Elliott) Sigler both of Wooster; grandchildren Collin (Emily), Makenna, Blake, Brandon and Charles Sigler; sister Sandra Jo (Tom) Bahl; nieces and nephews Brad Bahl, Mike Bahl, Karen Princehorn and Sharon Bahl.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Moskowitz officiating.  Private inurnment will be in Reedsburg Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

The family will greet friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers,  contributions may be directed to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

  5. So sad to read that Betty passed away. I will cherish all the fond memories we shared over the years. I have missed running into Don and her, usually at Buehlers and catching up.
    Many family reunions were shared over the years.

  11. Don, I’m so sorry for the lose of Betty. It seems like we have known each othe forever. We may not meet anywhere other that Bishops or Drug Mart, but it was like meeting old friends. RIP Betty and you will be greatly missed.
