Robert R. “Randy” Turk, 70, of Wooster passed away January 3, 2024, at his residence.

He was born on July 5, 1953, in Wooster to Robert and Helen Stallman Turk.

Randy had worked at Volvo-White Trucking for 20+ years.  He was an avid fan of the Michigan Wolverines (Go Blue!), Nascar, and enjoyed playing horseshoes and softball.  Randy loved music, especially Kid Rock, and enjoyed taking his dogs for rides in his car.  His family and friends were very important to him and he loved them all.  He will be missed by many.

Surviving is his beloved companion of 40 years Sylvia Cruey, children Teresa (Jamie) Johnson of Wooster, Chris (Dane Casto) Moniger of Jeromesville, and Lacy Turk of Shreve; stepchildren Margaret Hershberger, Debby Cruey, James Cruey, and Angie Beckler; granddaughter Tori (Jordon) Miller; great-granddaughter Rowan Miller; sisters Cindi (Bob) Powers and Jody (Ron) Luke; a brother Reggie Turk; and numerous nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents; stepson Roger Cruey; and a very special uncle “Mote”.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 12:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Buddy Bevington officiating.  Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery near Glenmont.

Friends and family will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Monday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

  5. Condolences to the family. I remember Randy, Cindi, Jody and Reggie. We all rode the school bus together every day and I would enjoy the buffalo on Buffalo Hill each day. Good memories in our child hood days.

  8. Sylvia, I am so sorry to hear this. Prayers for you and family. I will always remember when he worked at the car parts store on corner beside culligan, he would always yell hello to me. Telling me to stay out of trouble. 🙂

  12. Randy was our neighbor for 20 years! Our kids loved teasing him about being a Michigan fan and you could always count on him talking you about his dogs or Trump. 😊 we will miss his witty humor when we would see him in the alley.

  17. We are so sad to read of Randy’s passing. We sure had a lot of fun times while working at Volvo, especially gathering at the bowling alley or the Orrville Moose. It was always nice to run into him while out & about in Wooster. Hal & I send our condolences to Sylvia & his family.

  20. I’m so sorry Sylvia. Randy was one of my favorite people from Volvo. In the last few years I would see him at every garage sale, and every time I went to Walmart. I will miss him and think of him every time I go to a garage sale or Walmart.❤️

  22. When my husband and I was out in a store shopping last fall. My husband was wearing his Michigan Hat. So that started a conversation with Robert. My husbands name is also Robert. We lived in Michigan for 20 years and my daughter in law is a graduated of UofM. We all just met for that brief few minuets. So sorry to read he passed away.
