“Together Again”

David W. Henderson, 56, of Lodi passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital in Cleveland.

He was born February 13, 1967, in Shelby the son of Joe B. and Jewell Miller Henderson. On July 2, 1989, he married Candie Browning. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2016.

David had been a school bus driver for Sandusky City Schools. He had also been a football coach for Huron City Schools. David loved flowers and enjoyed spending his time gardening. He also loved going fishing and cooking. David loved all kinds of music – from Bluegrass to Rock. The most important thing in his life, however, was his family and he loved them all dearly.

Surviving are his sons Cody Henderson of Sandusky and Caleb Henderson of Lodi; siblings Dee (Justin) Simms, Kewanee Berg, Jenny (Curt) Barnett, Forrest (Beth) Dyer, Delbert Henderson, and Mary (Johnny) Knipp.

In addition to his wife, Candi, and his parents David was preceded in death by his siblings Ken Henderson and Robin Galloway.

Private family services will be held.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., in Wooster is assisting the family.

  1. David, you were a great friend! The help he gave Tracy was priceless! Im so sorry I didn’t get you message sooner. I loved our talks about growing up in Plymouth. I know your out of pain and with Candi! RIP my friend.

  3. David was a true friend. He was a big man with a big heart. He was concerned about Jy son and made it a point to call him and check on him. He didn’t have to do they, but that was the way he did things. Right to the point. David made an impact in my son’s life and my own. He was a true believer in our Savior. He went thru hard things and he knew Jesus was always looking over him. He’s no longer in pain, no longer crippled and no longer going to have to fight the demons either. He was honest and a good man who loved and missed his Candi when she passed. He’s with her now. He loved his boys. Make your dad proud guys.
