Donna Gail Massie, 84, of Wooster passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital.

She was born March 23, 1939, in Salem to Donald E. and Dorothy Dunham Ganyard.  On September 8, 1958, she married James E. Massie. He preceded her in death in 2000.

Donna worked at Johnson’s Rubber in West Salem for 11 years and then at Rubbermaid for 20 years as a product processor.  She was a member of the First Church of God and was a Christian. She loved crafting, painting, animals, and flower gardening. In her later years she enjoyed relaxing in her swing under her favorite tree with her favorite dog, and also enjoyed watching Perry Mason and Columbo.  Donna cherished all animals.

Surviving are her daughters Dorothy (Ed) Siders of Covington and Cynthia Massie of Wooster; grandchildren Tim Siders, Matthew Siders, and Blake Henley; great-grandchildren Joshua, Gabe, Caleb and Simon Siders along with many nieces and nephews her canine companions Whiskey, Boo and Bear.

In addition to her husband James, she was preceded in death by a son Donald Massie; a grandson Timothy Helms; and 6 siblings.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the First Church of God, 1953 Akron Rd., Wooster with Pastor Arnie Kaufman officiating.  Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery.

Friends will be received 2 hours prior to the service.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  2. Cynthia, Blake and family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother and all of you are in our prayers that God will grant you peace and comfort at this most difficult time. She is no longer suffering and in a much better place. My heart goes out to you, Blake and the family my dear friend.
