Dona Lee Haycook, 78, of Wooster passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at Wooster Community Hospital.

She was born September 13, 1945 in Mansfield the daughter of Robert and Juanita Robison Debo.  On July 28, 1962, she married Ronald L. Haycook.  He preceded her in death in 2002.

Dona was a homemaker.  She enjoyed playing bingo on Saturdays, liked flowers and when her dogwood would bloom.

Surviving are her children Rodney Haycook, Gail (Charles) Hilty, Michael Haycook all of Wooster; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband Ronald, she was preceded in death by daughter Vanessa Haycook; son Jeffery Haycook; brothers Donald Debo, Billy Debo and Jimmy Debo; and sister Sharon Palser.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster with Pastor Dan Wingate officiating.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.

  2. I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was unfailingly cheerful and upbeat, no matter the circumstances. Being neighbors forever, your whole family holds a special place in the lives of my family. May God’s peace uphold you during this time of sadness and grief. God’s promise of eternal life for believers in Jesus Christ is our hope!
