Roger D. Dininger, 92, of Wooster died on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.

He was born March 16, 1931 in Huron County to Perso Christian and Grace Gilger Dininger.  On July 7, 1956 he married Joann Hlatky.  She preceded him in death in 2001.

Roger retired from Rubbermaid in 1987 after working in the shipping and receiving department for over 30 years.  He attended St. Mary Catholic Church and served his country in the U.S. Army during Korea.  He enjoyed taking care of his pets on his small farm, loved working outside and always enjoyed helping others.

Roger is survived by his daughter Susann (Joseph) Raghanti of Wooster; sister Carol Wagner of Glenmont; many nieces and nephews and his beloved donkeys Dottie and Jenny.

Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.

Friends will be received on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 3:00-6:00 PM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.  Private family interment will be held in Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be directed to No Pawz Left Behind, 1130 E. Main St., Suite 116, Ashland, OH 44805 or to the Wayne County Dog Shelter, 5694 Burbank Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

  1. Susann, Joe and the Dininger family, our deepest sympathies to all of you. We were saddened to hear of Roger’s passing. He had a wonderful zest for life and was a real lover of animals. I remember as a young girl coming to your magical animal farm and not wanting to leave. May your wonderful memories of his life well lived help ease your pain in the days ahead.
