Leo Ray, 68, of Wooster died on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.

He was born August 22, 1955 in Orrville to Eddie Hue and Harriet Connor Ray.  In 1991 He married Leah Patrick.  She preceded him in death in 2020.

Leo retired from Artiflex and had attended Wooster Church of the Nazarene.  He was a blessed and highly favored man who loved music, fashion, loved hard and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his children Dontia Ray of Columbus, Deonne Ray of Wooster, Teneah Chambers of Columbus, Nayisa Patton of Wooster, Peggy White of Akron, Toney Owens of Lakeville and Franklin Owens of Wooster; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; loving companion Carolyn Cook of Wooster; sisters Carolyn Ray of Wooster and Maggie Jo Scrutchions of Detroit, MI along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Along with his wife, Leah, he was preceded in death by his parents; a grandchild and siblings Rosalene Wallace, Mary D. Ray, Brenda Durden, Cheryl Lynn Ray, Eddie Ray, Jr., and Robert Earl Ray.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Wooster Church of the Nazarene, 3100 Oak Hill Rd., Wooster with Pastor Andrew Heller officating.

Friends will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  6. Rest easy Leo! I’ll miss you. Seems just like last week you had me laughing at the barbershop, clowning me about those 10 minutes. You’ve always inspired me… The smooth walk, the more clean and crispy suits and shoes. Man…. My condolences to the family, you will all be in my prayers. Love you all.

  11. Leo and Leah were the first to welcome me into the family. They were always kind and treated me the same despite me parting ways. I don’t think I ever saw Leo without a smile on his face or his arms outstretched for a hug. May his memories help keep him alive in everyone’s hearts.
