It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucy Drabenstott, born in Wooster, Ohio on April 29, 1943 a remarkable wife, mother, friend, and nana who touched the lives of so many. She departed from this world on February 19, 2024 surrounded by the love of her family, after bravely facing a stage IV ovarian cancer diagnosis in September, 2023. Lucy retired from Goodwill Industries in Wooster after spending 20 years in Human Resources.

She is survived by husband Larry Drabenstott, daughter Kim (Mick) Hanna, son Mike (Sheri) Clason, stepson Rich (Cindy) Drabenstott, stepdaughter Chris Drabenstott, grandchildren Megan Adler (Carlos) Llontop, Bailey Adler, Jack Drabenstott, Kate Drabenstott, and great grandchildren Leo, Alvaro, and Oliver Llontop.

The family extends their gratitude to everyone who provided care, friendship, food, and cards during Lucy’s journey and appreciates their support during this challenging time.

A private funeral service with her family will be held at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Seville.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

In lieu of cards or flowers, contributions may be directed to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

  1. I am so sorry to hear this I knew she was sick but didnt know how sick . I met Lucy in 4 grade at Chester school. graduated with her and attended Columbus Business University. What a great friend I have lost.

  6. my deepest condolences. Lucy was a wonderful soul. She was a great friend to me while at Goodwill and after she retired. I loved her dearly and will always remember her kindness towards me.

  7. I am so sorry to hear this. Lucy was such a sweet lady, I met Lucy when I first started to work at Goodwill. I always enjoyed her company and enjoyed the lunches we had after she retired.

  8. I am remembering the trips from Columbus to home and back when she and Barb and Lucy would ride in my car. They were at Columbus University, and I was close at OSU. Good times and interesting conservation on those trips. My sincere condolences to Larry and family.

    Our deepest sympathy in your loss of Lucy. I always enjoyed catching up at the hair salon when we happened to be there at the same time. Knew she was sick but this was too sudden after diagnosis.
