Joann Durnak, 75 of Wooster died on Monday, March 4, 2024 at her home.

She was born July 31, 1948 in Wooster to Milard and Lucille Burden Daughterty.  On April 10, 1994 she married Donald M. Durnak.  He preceded her in death in 1997.

Joann retired as the head housekeeper for Bungalow Beach Resorts on Anna Maria Island, FL where she won the White Glove Award multiple times.  She enjoyed working on puzzles, coloring, and loved playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was known as “Granny” to all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Tonya (John) Miller-Stone of Shreve and Trina (Les) Wudarzewski of Wooster; grandchildren Anthony Blair, Matia (Joseph) Bihari, Mariah Wudarzewski, Jessica (Ronald) Miller, Jaime Blair and Mark Blair; great grandchildren Nathan Miller, Rylee, Leon and Theodore Blair, Stasha Bihari and baby Bihari who is on the way; siblings Efus, Ephus, Adrian, Hubert, Victor, Millard Jr., John, Donald, Nellie, Ellie, Leora and Barbara.

Along with her husband Joann was preceded in death by her parents and her fur baby Wilby.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster is assisting the family.

  3. Joann has been on my heart and my mind so much for the past couple of weeks. I had been thinking I need to go see her. Today I thought maybe I can go Saturday. I am so sorry and sad that I waited too long.
    My heart is broken. I am so sad for her children and grandchildren’s loss. I know she was loved very much by them.
