Emil J. Finley, 95, of Wooster died on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at his home.

He was born April 1, 1928 in Apple Creek to Jesse and Helen Meyer Finley.  On April 20, 1954, he married Rhea Pauline Warner.  She preceded him in death in 2015.

Emil had been a truck driver for Armstrong Drilling for over 42 years.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.  He enjoyed being outdoors, traveling out west, fishing, staying busy and spending time with his family and helping people in need.

He is survived by his sons Charles (Jean) Finley, Carl (Margaret) Finley and Dale Finley all of Wooster; grandchildren Zachary and Emily Finley, Jason ( Stacy ) and Josh ( Myla ) Hershberger; great grandchildren Calin Finley, Kasie, Kylie, Codey Ali and Audrey Hershberger; sisters Sally Joliat of North Canton, Barbara Richardson of Wooster and Judy Lisak of Toledo.

Along with his wife, Emil was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lenna Spencer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster.  Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour prior the service at the church.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster is assisting the family.
