Mary “Edith” Clark, 95, of Wooster, OH went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2024.

She was born December 28, 1928 to Clyde and Lela Bell Heflin in Centertown, KY. In nearby Beaver Dam, she met the love of her life, James “Curtis” Clark.  She joined him in Wooster on October 21st, 1950 and they were married that day.  The celebrated 71 years together before his death in January of 2022.

Edith enjoyed being a wife, homemaker and mother.  She and Curtis were blessed with three wonderful sons. She was a loving mother who was faithfully devoted to her boys.  She loyally sat through countless baseball games, in good weather and bad. She never missed one.

Edith was one of twelve children and shared a life-long inseparable bond with her identical twin sister, Edath Kessinger.

She is survived by her children Jerry and Lynne Clark of Westerville, OH; Don and Cheryl Clark of Big Prairie, OH; and Debbie Clark of Fort Myers, FL. She will be deeply missed by her 11 grandchildren: Marissa (Jake) Olds, Andrea (Mark) Drew; Megan (Jason) Keller, Melanie (Harris) Tobey, Holly (John) Shilling, Nathan (Christa) Clark, Adam (Hayla) Clark, Julia Clark (Jonathan Kirby), Hannah, Noah and Madison Clark In addition to 22 great-grandchildren.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband; her son, James Clark; her granddaughter, Kensington Clark; her parents; and siblings: Willie, Richard, Roy, Ivan Vernie, Ishmel, Ruby, Drexel, Alton and Walton Heflin and Edath Kessinger.

Edith loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. While she will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they are grateful for the legacy of faith and love that she passed on to her family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with Pastor Jerry O’Brien officiating. Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery.  The funeral will be livestreamed on the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home Facebook Page.

Calling hours will be from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

  1. Aunt Edith, you were not only my mom’s twin sister, but my second mom as well! The wonderful memories I carry with mess a child as well as an adult will never be forgotten and I will always will know just how blessed I was to have had you in my world! I know you are enjoying your amazing homecoming in heaven, I love you, miss you, but know that you are Home, with HIM, so it’s hard to feel sad!

  2. I will miss my aunt, she was much more to me then that. I always enjoyed spending time with my aunt Edith and Uncle Curtis. Even after 71 years together when watching them together set beside each other on the couch they looked like newlyweds. When watching Curtis play the guitar or tell a joke it was just as fun watching Edith laff at him. In Ephesians it talks about kindness, Edith was such a perfect example and you could easily see that in her and Curtis every time you see them.

  4. My deepest sympathy to Edith’s family & friends. Lovely lady, spent many hrs with her & Edath & her family in past yrs. I know they are all together again, with Curtis & Theron playing Uno & cutting up. All, the best of the best…My life is richer having known them all. Rest in Peace Edith. & Peace to your hearts.
