Henry Vincent Tomasetti, 94, went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2024 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.

He was born on July 6, 1929 to Venanzio and Elvira (Discipio) Tomasetti in Wooster, Ohio.

Henry worked at Medal Brick and Tile before joining the U.S. Army in 1951. He served in Ft. Brag, NC and Ft. Belvore, VA until 1953, operating heavy equipment and a M4A3 tank. After his time in the service, Henry worked as a yard superintendent at Wooster Iron and Metal for 40 years.

Exactly 71 years prior to the date of his passing, on April 27, 1953, Henry proposed to his neighborhood sweetheart, RoseMarie Ianarelli. They were married on September 5th of the same year and raised a family together in Wooster.

Surviving in addition to his wife are their 5 children, Nancy Sustar of Strongsville, Liana Tomasetti of Cincinnati, Monica Wallace of Wooster, Eric (Cory) Tomasetti of Cincinnati, and Lisa (Ray) McConnell of Wooster; grandchildren Megan (Tony) Smith, Abby (Vishnu) Pemmaraju, Erica Sustar, Mariah (Seth) Kufeldt, Mitchell, Nicholas, Morgan, Rocco, and Giovanni Tomasetti, Jacob (Gina) McConnell, Jordan McConnell, and 5 great-grandchildren with a 6th on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Irene Arnold.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Frank, sister Rosie, and 2 infant daughters.

Henry was a sports lover, always enjoying a game of racquetball, a bowling match, a round of golf, or the chance to watch his grandkids’ games. He also enjoyed playing cards, smoking a cigar around a fire, and a good plate of spaghetti and meatballs with a glass of wine.

More than anything, Henry loved the Lord and loved his family. He was full of good stories and always knew how to make them laugh. Henry faithfully attended church and sought to “make Jesus the center of his life” as he often prayed. He will be remembered as a hard-working, sincere, and loving man who devoted himself to providing and caring for his family.

Services will be held at Wooster Nazarene Church, 3100 Oak Hill Rd. Wooster on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Nathan Ward officiating.  Interment will follow Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville at 2:15 P.M.

Friends will be received from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the church.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pregnancy Care Center of Wayne County, 331 W. Liberty St., Wooster, OH 44691 or Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

  12. Ah, RoseMarie, I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear husband. I will be thinking of you and praying your sweet memories will give you peace and healing in the difficult days ahead. I’m not sure if I realized Henry was my Great Aunt Irene’s brother. It’s a small world. Remembering you and our Bible study times together…sending love and a hug.
