Mrs. Fernand (Pashke) Cox, went to heaven on April 29, 2024 to be with her beloved husband, Ronald Cox who preceded her in death on May 22, 2001. Fernand was born in Lily, PA on January 9, 1935 daughter of Raymond and Matilda Pashke. She has two surviving siblings, Mrs. June Nicholson of Elizabeth City, NC and Mr. Anthony Pashke of Weirton, WV.  She was preceded in death by sisters, Kathryn Sohovich, Mary-Louise Pashke, Carol Ann Snyder, and brothers Raymond Pashke, Paul Pashke, Kevin Pashke, and Nial Pashke.  She was loved by dozens of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was a graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School.  She married Ronald Cox on June 12, 1976 in Wooster, OH.  Mrs. Cox taught elementary school at St. Mary’s in Wooster and in the Triway Local School district at Shreve Elementary.

Prior to moving to Parkside Village in Westerville Ohio in June 2021, she was an active member of St. Mary’s church (Wooster OH) and numerous local clubs.  She loved collecting light houses and painting ceramics, especially Christmas decorations. She loved being with family and enjoyed traveling with her friend Terri and others.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster.

Friends will be received from 12:30 until the time of the Mass at the church.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, P.O. Box 109, Wooster, OH 44691.

Her Westerville family sends its sincerest appreciation to all the management and staff at Danbury Senior Living Parkside Village and all the hospice staff at Capital City who provided end of life/comfort care to “Aunt Nonny”.

  3. So sorry for your loss. She was one of my favorites. Best 2nd grade teacher. Still remember her mailing me a letter in the summer and giving us a letter we wrote to ourselves when we graduated. Flat Stanley was my favorite project we did in her class and I still have it. Prayers to you and your family.

  4. Mrs. Cox is the reason I became a teacher. After having her as my 2nd grade teacher, I job shadowed her a few years later when I was in junior high. She was retiring in a few weeks. When I left, she unpinned her wooden apple pin that was always on her sweater and gave it to me, saying I would be an amazing teacher. She was also the one to tell me my baby sister was born. I was so excited I knocked her glasses off. Prayers for her family.

  5. What a lovely person Fernand was she was a great help with funeral dinners that we did at the church. She was always so gracious and kind. May she rest in peace🙏🏻
